Ai Khai is a boy following Luang Phor Thuad on pilgrimage.

When Luang Phor Thuad came to Wat Chedi, Si Chon district, Nakhon Si Thammarat province, he ordered Ai Khai to look after the temple for him.

Ai Khai died when he was young and his spirit has lived there since then.

Ai Khai spirit always keeps an eye on the temple.

Ones who come without permission and burglars will be frightened by Ai Khai spirit.

The power of Ai Khai is widely known in Nakhon Si Thammarat and other provinces.

People told that in World War Two, Ai Khai spirit frightened the foreign soldiers that they ran away without thinking.

Because of strong power of Ai Khai spirit, in 2525 B.E. (1982 C.E.) people together built the statue of Ai Khai from Takian wood (Takian is a spiritual tree in Thai belief) and invited Ai Khai spirit to obsess in the statue, which made Ai Khai statue uncommon.

Ai Khai spirit helps people who pray to him.

Every day, people come to worship and give offerings to Ai Khai.

They like to make a wish towards Ai Khai statue.
